THE FRESH, NUDE, NO FUSS MAKEUP

dear READERS,
I AM DOING THIS POST AT THE SPECIAL REQUEST FROM MY AUNT. SHE WWAWANTED ME TO CREATE A SIMPLE, NO FUSS MAKEUP, A LOOK THAT
SHE COULD PUT ON EVERY DAY TO WORK. HERE IS HOW I CREATED THE NO FUSS LOOK FOR MY AUNT AND ALSO FOR ALL THOSE OF MY READERS WHO DON'T HAVE  MUCH TIME TO SPEND ON THEMSELVES YET DON'T WANT TO LOOK TOO PLAIN AND DULL EITHER. HOPE YOU ALL WILL LIKE IT :)

THERE IS NOTHING MUCH I HAVE DONE TO ACHIEVE THIS LOOK, IT IS A QUICK AND HASSLE FREE LOOK THAT ANYONE CAN ACHIEVE, ONE THAT ANYONE CAN PUT ON EVERYDAY AND  SINCE IT LOOKS FRESH, IS IDEAL TO WITHSTAND THE SUMMER HEAT.
(P.S PRIYANKA RAI IF YOU ARE READING THIS POST, I WOULD LIKE TO DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO MY EARS. YES, I AM WEARING THE EARRING THAT YOU GIFTED, SEE NOW DON'T COMPLAIN THAT I DON'T WEAR IT NEXT TIME :) }

  • WELL, STARTING WITH MY FACE, I HAVE APPLIED L'OREAL SHEER CASHMERE POWDERY MELTING FOUNDATION. I THINK IT IS NECESSARY TO APPLY FOUNDATION BEFORE APPLYING THE MAKE UP TO CREATE THAT EVEN, FLAWLESS SKIN TONE. (P.S  PLEASE DO NOT BUY FOUNDATION WITHOUT TESTING IT FOR A PERFECT MATCH WITH YOUR SKIN TONE )

  • AFTER THE FACE TIME TO MOVE ON TO THE EYES, I HAVE APPLIED AVON'S EYE-SHADOW PALLET E. I DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE PALETTE BUT IT COMES IN THE SHADES OF NUDE BROWN WITH ONE SHIMMERY BROWN. FOR THIS LOOK I USED PLALLETE NO 2 IN LIGHT BROWN OVER MY EYELIDS

  • NOW COMING TO THE LASHES, THESE ARE A SEMINAL PART THAT WE NEED TO HIGHLIGHT. SINCE I WILL NOT BE USING KAJAL, I WILL HAVE TO MAKE MY LASHES COMPENSATE BY MAKING THEM INTENSELY BLACK AND THICK. I USED MAYBELLINE'S FALSIES MASCARA "AS MY CHOICE OF WEAPON". I LOVE THE MASCARA AND SINCE MY LASHES ARE JUST AN EXCUSE FOR LASHES THIS MASCARA IS A LIFE SAVER

  • NOW COMES THE CHEEKS. I HAVE HIGHLIGHTED THEM WITH ATTITUDE'S BLUSH DUO. I COUNTERED MY CHEEK'S LINE WITH A SLIGHTLY DARKER SHADE AND THEN USED THE LIGHTER PINK ONE FOR THE CHEEKBONE AND SMUDGED THEM BOTH. (P.S MAKE SURE YOU SMUDGE IT OFF FLAWLESSLY OR YOU WILL BE WALKING AROUND WITH TWO ODD LOOKING CONTRASTING STREAKS ON YOUR CHEEK. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO USE A BRUSH )

  • FINALLY FOR MY LIPS, I CHOSE A NUDE SHADE FROM MAYBELLINE'S MOISTURE WHIP LIPSTICK

THAT'S HOW I CREATED THE LOOK. HOPE YOU ALL LIKED IT

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel eyeliner

hey all
today i am going to write about Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. well, i did earlier try maybelline's Colossal kajal but was disappointed, as it lasted me just a month,it's quantity mere 0.35g :( .hence, i had to buy another one so i bought the pot kajal ( thats what i call it), for maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel eyeliner (phewwww) is just so long to pronounce and type for that matter and life is too short to waste on names that are so long.

okay so coming back to the kajal ,it's packaging is good- it comes in a cute, little and tiny pot.  quantity -  2.8 grams and comes with a cute and sleek brush applicator.
i got mine at a price of Rs 410-

Maybelline claims that this gel based Eye Liner is ideal for an Intense Color. Guaranteed for 24 Hour Wear, it is Smudge-proof and Water-proof. Its oil-free formula can holds the highly concentrated pigments in a clear gel base making the color more intense and lines resist wear for hours.

What i say is that, all that the product claims has a ring of truth in it but the fact cannot be overlooked that i live in a beautiful hill station where we just experience two seasons winter and monsoon, hence no worries for me of the scorching heat melting away my makeup :).

i have a dry skin texture too so the gel did not smudge on me( however, it did blot a little when i applied it, it's better to leave to dry for few seconds) can not vouch for the ones with an oily skin and the kajal is really hard to remove ( it goes off only with a cleanser, and i am confused if that counts as a positive or a negative )

i just loved the sleek brush which is so easy to use and one has the freedom to become creative and draw thick, sleek lines and create cat eye or bird eye or whatever you want your eyes to transform into. here i have to admit that though my eyes are small and eyelids are non existing, yet i try my best to make them as attractive as i can ( since someone said that eyes are the window of the soul or something like that). i really envy Indian women for their beautiful and expressive eyes, i am sure all Nepalese-Indian  women will agree with me on this

i could apply a thin line on my eyelid with a single sweep without much hassle. loved the fact that it it did not possess a mind of it's own and become a slave at my hand ( ha ha the far fetched metaphor). the only thing that i did not actually like  is fact that the color  should have been more deeper and blacker, which for that matter is the plus side of the maybelline  colossal kajal, i loved the colossal deep black color, hope i could get the same intense black color on the pot too. yet i think the pot is worth a buy and is cost effective too as, as far as i guess it will really last long at least longer than the colossal k.

And although i am in love with the pot and the brush, i do not think it's viable to carry it everywhere around in my purse,( kajal and a lipstick is my staple, can't move anywhere without it) a convenience that Maybelline colossal k. definitely provides

without wearing eyeshadow

with eyeshadow

verdict

the good

  • easy to wear
  • doesn't smudge

the bad

  • the pigmentation could have been more deeper
  • not convenient enough to carry around for touch ups

the ugly

  •  none

LAKME ABSOLUTE LIP TINTS

A BLOG OF ONE'S OWN

Viriginia Woolf once said that each woman needs "A Room of One's Own", the one with a lock and a key, for her creative juices to flow. Well! if she were alive today guess she would definitely advocate to every woman a blog of her own.
I live in a very small and scenic town, Darjeeling. While there are plenty of pros of living in a small town, there is an equal amount of cons as well :(
The one downside of it is the lack of access to big make up brands like MAC, not even Rimmel for that matter or Chamboor or Maxfactor, Colorbar................ and the list goes on
Yet we manage to survive somehow, bless the cold weather and the quasi-fresh air that provides a  natural hue to both our cheeks and lips ;)Anyway, jokes apart, I have being dying to  get hold of Lakme Absolute's newest Lip Stains and tadaaaaaa I got myself a couple today.

THE COLORS THAT I BOUGHT ARE :-

ORANGE TEASE

PINK SORBET

Priced at a whooping sum of Rs 800  :-
  • These are lip stains, unlike lipsticks. (and I am actually liking them very much, i am trying one for the very first time ).
  • These stains are not matte in texture as i had presumed (after looking at Kareena's pic) yet they aren't too glossy either ( these are a little shimmery though ), the  key word is moderation here i guess, even the neon pigment is in moderation so that one doesn't end up looking clownish
  • Longevity is a good 3 to 4 hours

Check out below how the colors looked on me

P.S: I am using my phone's camera so the picture quality is not that good, in fact its pretty below average so APOLOGIES :(

PINK SORBET

ORANGE TEASE

Verdict

Well, I just loved them on my lips but they are way too PRICEY. Saving money from right this moment to buy some more shades from the collection, but since the collection says Limited Edition, hope it lasts on stands till then :)
